not screw them up too much…)

Growing as a Parent
• Limit your child’s activities
• Stand firm in conviction
• Let them bleed
• Be present
• Only say yes to what you want to
• DO NOT throw a video game, phone, or tablet at your kid and expect it to raise
them.
Parenting teens
As Teens go through Puberty, their brains change.
• Become emotional versus rational
• Experience fear & anxiety
• Testosterone’s job is to re-organzie the brain during puberty
• Seek acceptance & identity in peers rather than family.
• Need to know they are loved & accepted regardless. Unconditional grace.
• Brain begins to evolve & kids start thinking of future plans. Ask them questions
to encourage a growth mindset:
• QUESTIONS TO ASK TEENS
• Where do you want to go to college?
• What do you want to study in college?
• If you could have any job in the world what would it be?
• If you could live anywhere where would it be?
• What does your future home look like?
• If you have $1 million to support any cause or charity of your choice what will it
be?
• What do you want to be known for?
• Do you want to get married?
• How many kids do you plan to have?
Raising Men
SPEAKING TO BOY MOMS
• Your boys will become men, and hopefully husbands and fathers. They
have to learn how to become a Man from their Dads. We have to cut the
apron strings and let them grow alongside their fathers.
• We also teach them how to treat women by how we teach them to treat
us. It is our job to teach our sons to be gentlemen and what is expected
of them. Chivalry is not dead, but somewhere along the way, women quit
making it be important. If it matters to you, teach it to your sons.
• Open doors, say please, thank you, , & Yes Ma’am, kiss your
Mama!
• Teach them the value of hard work. Work hard. Play hard.
• Attach them to Purpose. Get them involved in serving
others. Teach them to be kind & advocate for others.
• Point out their admirable qualities that makes them who they
are. Tell them positive leadership characteristics they have.
Speak Life.
• Don’t be afraid to talk about hard subjects: they will respect
you for treating them as humans.
Don’t forget to write a review if you like what you heard!
