Adapting Your Mindset

This week, I had the honor of sitting down with Teisha Simmons, Mother, Entrepreneur, Small Business Owner, Wife, and Daughter.

After hearing Teisha speak as a leader at my skincare company’s conference, I knew that my audience needed to hear her story!

Teisha’s story is one of true git and overcoming adversity. She shares her story being paralzyed at the age of 15, overcoming the anxiety, depression, and insomnia that followed, learning more about her faith through the trials.

She shares with us how she completed her Master’s in Psychology and was required to write a 96 page thesis by using a head mouse and typing 6 words per minute. Teisha tells us that in order to accomplish this goal, she had to say no to other things and that any good goal is worth pushing through for.

I asked for her opinion of how to treat someone going through such a trial and she shared that people will give us signs when they are ready but until then, we need to just be there for them and sit with them. At the end of the day, just want their hurt acknowledged.

Teisha encourages us to build ourselves up now because at some point, life will knock the breath out of us and reminds us that if she can do what she has done without using 90% of her body, we can all do anything we set our mind to.
